Life satisfaction in later life is strongly influenced by the quality of family relationships, social support, and the extent to which older adults continue to experience meaning, usefulness, and belonging. In aging societies, intergenerational support remains a central source of emotional security and social well-being; however, the mechanisms through which such support enhances life satisfaction are not always clearly specified. This article proposes a structural equation modeling framework to examine the relationship between intergenerational support and life satisfaction among older adults. Intergenerational support is conceptualized as the independent variable, life satisfaction as the dependent variable, perceived social support and generativity as parallel mediators, and living arrangement as a moderator. Drawing on Intergenerational Solidarity Theory and the Life Course Perspective, the study argues that intergenerational support improves life satisfaction not only through the availability of practical and emotional help, but also by strengthening older adults’ sense of being socially valued and generative. The study proposes a quantitative cross-sectional survey among community-dwelling older adults aged 60 years and above. A sample size of approximately 400 respondents is recommended for covariance-based structural equation modeling. Data may be collected using structured questionnaires, and the proposed model may be tested through confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The article contributes to social gerontology by explaining how, why, and under what living conditions intergenerational support enhances life satisfaction in later life.
